Frequently Asked Questions

You can conveniently add Red Sky Travel insurance to your booking during the initial reservation process. Already Booked? Contact our team to add travel insurance today. At the time of purchasing travel insurance, you have a 14-day look period. If you find the insurance is not suitable for your needs, you can cancel the insurance within 14 days of purchase and receive a refund, no questions asked. 

We are happy to help you change the date or property of your reservation as long as it falls within the cancellation policy. Please note that each request is considered on a case-by-case basis and depends on availability and the cancellation policy. Any price increase will be at the expense of the reservation holder. 

As part of our commitment to safety and fraud prevention, Juniper requires a valid government-issued ID and a matching selfie to verify your identity. This process helps us:

  • Ensure the person booking is the credit card holder

  • Prevent unauthorized use or fraudulent activity

  • Comply with local regulations and insurance requirements

This is a standard practice across the hospitality industry—similar to how hotels require ID at check-in. The difference is we complete this process securely and conveniently online before your stay. Your information is never sold, and only used for verification purposes to ensure a safe experience for all guests and homeowners.

At Juniper, we aim to keep our pricing transparent while ensuring each stay meets our high standards. Here’s a breakdown of the typical taxes and fees collected at the time of booking:

Cleaning Fee
This fee helps cover the cost of professionally cleaning the home after your stay. It may vary depending on:

  • Length of Stay – Longer stays may include a small increase to account for extra cleaning time or require a mid-stay cleaning to be added.

  • Peak Season  –  An additional seasonal cleaning adjustment may be applied to accommodate higher service demand.

These adjustments are reflected in the total rental cost at checkout.

Accidental Damage Waiver
This non-refundable fee covers up to $2,000 in accidental damage during your stay. It provides peace of mind for you and protection for the property. Note: This coverage is void if the guest agreement is violated. The rate is calculated per night and depends on the number of bedrooms in the home.

Guest Service Fee
Similar to a standard service fee, this fee supports the cost of secure payment processing, reservation management, and 24/7 guest support. It ensures your stay is smooth from booking to check-out.

Applicable Taxes
All bookings include required local and state taxes, which vary by property location.

We’d be happy to help you recover your lost items! Juniper partners with iLeftMyStuff.com, a secure and convenient platform for reporting and tracking personal belongings.

To get started:

  1. Visit www.iLeftMyStuff.com.

  2. Click on “Find My Item” in the top right corner.

  3. Enter our hotel ID number: 68866.

  4. Complete the form with your contact information and a description of the item.

Once your item is found, you’ll receive an email with a secure link to confirm your shipping address and submit payment for return shipping. After payment is complete, our team will send the item directly to you.

Yes, Juniper offers a limited selection of homes with certain accessibility features. Because each property is individually owned and uniquely designed, amenities can vary. Common features may include:

  • Ground-level entry

  • Step-free access to the main living areas

  • Walk-in showers or grab bars (in some homes)

If you have specific accessibility needs, we strongly recommend contacting our Guest Services team before booking. We’re happy to help identify homes that best match your requirements and ensure a comfortable stay.

Reservations Under 30 Nights:

30+ Days Before Check-in: A full refund will be issued if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days before the check-in date. Travel insurance, if purchased, is non-refundable after the free look period. Reservations canceled fewer than 30 days before the check-in date are.

Less Than 30 Days Before Check-in: Reservations canceled fewer than 30 days before the check-in date are non-refundable.

Reservations of 30 Nights or More:

Within 30 Days of Booking: A full refund will be issued if the reservation is canceled within 30 days of the booking date. Travel insurance, if purchased, is non-refundable after the free look period. 


Once a cancellation has been initiated, the amount you paid will be credited back to your original payment method. You can expect to receive the credit within 3 to 10 business days. However, the time it takes for the transaction to appear in your account may vary based on your financial institution's policies. If you have not received your refund within 14 days, please reach out to our team. If you made your reservation through a third-party booking site, their support team will be able to confirm the refund timeline.

Yes! Dogs are welcome to join you on your vacation at pet-friendly approved accommodations. There is no additional charge to bring your pets. Each home has varying pet limits, so please check the listing towards the bottom. 

Yes, the majority of our properties have keyless entry. Three days before your check-in, you will receive check-in instructions that provide you with codes and details for entry.

Occupancy limits are assigned on a per-property basis and can be found during the booking process on the property listing page. Guests who violate the listed occupancy limits are in serious violation and breach of these House Rules, and AvantStay reserves the right to deny access or require all guests to vacate the premises. No refunds will be issued due to violation of occupancy limits.

  • Check Your Email & Texts: You’ll receive arrival details, your guidebook, and home-specific instructions prior to check-in. Be sure to review these carefully.

  • Verify Your ID and Guest Agreement: If you haven’t already, complete the guest agreement to avoid any delays at check-in.

  • Pack Accordingly: All of our homes include essentials like linens, towels, starter toiletries, and kitchenware. If you’re staying for an extended period, we recommend packing or planning for restocks of paper products and pantry items.

  • Plan Activities: Use the home-specific guidebook or ask our team for local recommendations on dining, shopping, and things to do. Our concierge services can assist in curating your stay into a memorable getaway. 

  • Review House Rules: Familiarizing yourself with the home’s rules helps ensure a safe and respectful experience for everyone.

Service Animals
Yes, service animals are welcome at all Juniper properties. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are permitted in all states and at any Juniper home.

Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)
While we understand the importance of emotional support animals, they are not covered under the ADA. For this reason, we kindly ask that guests traveling with an ESA (specifically dogs) reserve one of our pet-friendly homes.

Standard check-in time is 4:00 PM, and check-out is 10:00 AM local time.

These times allow our team to properly clean and prepare the home for the next guest. If you need an early check-in or late check-out, feel free to reach out—availability depends on the home's schedule, and additional fees may apply.
