THE SPACE
Stepping into The Calista, you’ll immediately appreciate the vaulted ceilings and spacious open design, which create an inviting atmosphere for all. The living room’s mantra is comfy-cozy, and is a popular place for guests to chill out with a favorite drink, watch a movie or show on the flat-screen TV, or just relax and mingle after a day at the beach or exploring the local amenities. The newly renovated, fully-equipped kitchen features high-end appliances, deluxe fixtures and provides you with the essentials to make delicious vacay meals. And don’t forget, the kitchen’s way-cool central island and adjacent breakfast nook is commonly known as the place to be for a morning coffee or afternoon snack.
Both bedrooms at The Calista feature top-quality bedding and linens – for a comfy, sound sleep – as well as wonderful natural light, from the large multiple windows. Each also has a flat-screen TV for viewing your favorite movies and TV shows in the comfort and privacy of your own bed.

The metro-style bathroom is highlighted by a tiled walk-in shower – with a soothing Rain-Shower head – and a deluxe stone-top vanity. Plus, we supply you with all the essentials. Also, there’s a stackable washer-dryer combo in the kitchen – in a tall green cabinet – for all your and your guests’ laundering needs.
The fenced backyard offers you and your guests access to a shared nice-size lawn and both a firepit to gather ‘round and a grill for barbecuing.
In addition to being just an easy walk from a majestic, crystal-sand Lake Michigan beach – and a super-short drive to popular beaches like Pier Street Beach and Cherry Beach – you and your guests can also partake of the many activities afforded by being quite near Warren Woods State Park, offering all sorts of woodland hiking and biking trails galore, or the region’s largest recreational harbor, providing you with countless water-related excursions and rentals, from fishing trips to boat, kayak, jet-ski and paddleboard rentals to day and evening cruises. There’s also the Acorn Theater, a local treasure for live performances of nationally recognized music artists, and a number of nearby breweries, wineries, brew pubs and even an award-winning distillery for y’all to check out. Of course, you and your guests can also enjoy sampling to your hearts’ content the many popular restaurants, cafes, art galleries, boutiques and antique shops just a hop, skip and a jump away in Union Pier and downtown New Buffalo.
And we should mention this property is a multi-family duplex, with a virtually identical unit right next door – ask us about renting both units when you book, if you’re interested. The Bella is Unit A on the right – as you’re facing the front of the property – and Unit B, The Calista, is on the left.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
To abide by all legal requirements and property security rules, you may be asked to participate in a guest prescreening. All guests are required to review and sign Juniper Holiday + Home's Guest Occupancy Agreement before check-in. While we understand that events can affect your trip, it is our policy to stick to the agreed upon cancellation policy in the listing. We recommend purchasing a vacation travel insurance policy if you suspect that you will need to cancel your vacation.
The minimum age to rent this home is 25.
A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver is included with your reservation. This waiver covers accidental damage or loss to the rental property caused by you or members of your party up to a maximum of $2,000. This plan does not cover intentional acts, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
There is parking on property for 1 car. All other cars will need to use the free parking across from the Union Pier Social.
For guests that would like to bring pets we agree that pets are part of the family, and we welcome up to 2 dogs here. All pets must be authorized at time of booking - email us immediately for pet approval if you plan to bring a pet.
Out of respect for our staff and their families, we do not permit check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Thank you for your understanding.
